Another year, another Art Car Boot Fair, and as always, this year’s art-packed Sunday, taking place tomorrow 12 June at the Old Truman Brewery, will not disappoint!
In honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday, Sir Peter Blake has created a limited edition portrait of HRH. The work is based on a photo taken by Lord Lichfield, which was then painted for a 2002 reception at the RA to honour the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Staying true to the Art Car Boot Fair’s theme of ‘The Hand’, the work features a hand-drawn hand that points at the artist’s signature.

Other exciting artists, both emerging and established, in this year’s thrilling line-up, who will selling work at the fair’s happily affordable prices, include Keith Coventry, Tracey Emin, Gavin Turk, Pam Hogg, Ben Eine, Polly Morgan in collaboration with True Rocks, HelenA Pritchard, Christian Furr, Marcus Harvey, Colin Self, Pure Evil, Mat Collishaw, and Charming Baker.
As always, every artist will be personally setting up their ‘stalls,’ aka the boots of new and vintage Vauxhall cars.

If music is more your scene, with this year marking the 40th anniversary of the birth of punk rock, ex-Clash and Public Image Ltd. member, Keith Levent, will be performing too.
There will not be a lack of all types of entertainment, curated by Richard Strange, from magic, to hand-printing, nail art, palm reading, puppetry, made-to-order cocktails, hand-pulled pints, plenty of nibbles and even shrink sessions on the backseat with psychoanalyst, Darian Leader.
I, for one, cannot think of a better way to spend a Sunday. So let’s pray for good weather, get ready to buy some affordable art and enjoy what promised to be a fantastic day out!
